Big Hogan

The Many Faces!

The Big Hogan is a frequently visited site within Lower Monument Valley (only with a guide). This location is famous for the large amphitheater that it makes some guides like to sing, play drums or flute here. There are many faces that your guide will be able to point out to you and with some imagination you will be able to see them as well. So in your next visit look out for the bear, eagle, and the Navajo man. There is evidence of ancient runes and pictographs within the alcove.

In 2012, during the winter there was a portion of the arch that fell from the roof. Luckily it was the winter and there are a lot less people and tourists within the Valley and no one was hurt.
